These variations may influence traits such as nutrient processing, lactose or caffeine response, exercise adaptation and other biological tendencies. A DNA report can organise selected variants into understandable themes, helping you ask more personal questions about your wellbeing.
The value is not in labelling yourself. It is in combining appropriate genetic insight with present health, family history, habits and goals. Your code can inform choices; it does not write a fixed future.
Genetic information is most useful when it creates clarity—not fear.
02 • Food and genes
The Advantage of Nutrigenomics
Nutrigenomics explores how foods influence gene activity and how genetic differences may influence responses to nutrients.
Two people can eat similar meals yet experience different levels of satiety, digestive comfort or metabolic response. Genetics may be one contributor alongside age, health status, microbiome, medication, sleep, movement, culture and environment.
Responsible nutrigenomic guidance does not create a long list of forbidden foods. It identifies the most relevant findings, checks them against the whole person and supports balanced, food-first decisions.
03 • Gene activity
The Science of Epigenetics
Epigenetics studies changes in gene activity that occur without changing the underlying DNA sequence.
Cells use regulatory mechanisms to increase or reduce the activity of particular genes. These patterns are essential for normal development and may also respond to age, nutrition, exposure, stress and other biological signals.
This science does not promise that every genetic risk can be “switched off.” Its practical lesson is more balanced: genes work within a dynamic biological environment, so consistent lifestyle choices remain meaningful while medical risks still require clinical care.
04 • Genes and medicines
The Rise of Pharmacogenomics
Pharmacogenomics examines how genetic variation may affect medication response.
Some variants can influence how a drug is metabolised, transported or interacts with its target. In appropriate clinical settings, this information may help a qualified prescriber consider medicine selection or dosage together with age, other medicines, health conditions and laboratory findings.
This is a medical field—not a basis for self-adjusting treatment. Never start, stop or change a medicine because of a consumer genetic report without consulting the prescribing clinician.
05 • Traditional phenotypes and genomics
The Emergence of Ayurgenomics
Ayurgenomics is an evolving research area exploring possible relationships between Ayurvedic constitutional descriptions and genomic patterns.
Ayurveda traditionally describes individual constitution through concepts such as prakriti. Modern researchers have explored whether groups defined by these phenotypic observations show reproducible molecular differences.
The field is interesting but still developing. Traditional concepts and genetic findings should not be treated as interchangeable, and any health recommendation must respect evidence, scope of practice and the individual’s medical needs.
06 • Understanding your report
Your Genetic Counselling
A report can contain unfamiliar terms, probabilities and many findings. Counselling helps you understand what deserves attention—and what does not.
The conversation connects the report with your goal, family and health context. It explains the difference between a predisposition and a diagnosis, discusses limitations, answers questions and identifies which findings may be useful for wellness planning or require referral to a medical professional.
Good counselling should leave you informed and empowered, not overwhelmed.
07 • From insight to action
Your Personalized Action Plan
Information becomes valuable when it leads to clear, realistic and measurable action.
A responsible plan combines relevant genetic insights with current eating patterns, activity, sleep, stress, preferences and professional medical guidance. It may prioritise food variety, portion balance, movement, recovery or questions to discuss with a clinician.
The plan is not frozen forever. It should be reviewed as your circumstances, goals and clinical information change.
